Parker Contemporary Workshop

On Saturday 8 November, PARKER Projects joined Logan-based artist Christina Lowry at the Fish Lane Town Square for a free drop-in workshop. Participants were invited to hand-build porcelain bird skulls and add them to Ex Libris - a 1,000-piece community installation modelled on native species and reflecting on extinction and biodiversity loss.
Christina has developed the project through community workshops, and it has shown at Logan Art Gallery, is a finalist in the Flying Arts Regional Art Awards (touring Queensland), a finalist in the Wollongong Art Prize, and will open as as a cumulative exhibition at Kingston Arts Centre, Moorabbin (VIC) in January 2026.
Past workshops have been hosted by Logan Art Gallery, Metro Arts, Woolloongabba Art Gallery, Maroochy Wetlands Sanctuary, and the artist’s studio.
At PARKER Projects, collaboration is central; much like print culture, where ideas are shared and imprints are made together. Ex Libris extends this ethos in clay: shared authorship, careful making, and a collective imprint on our connection to birds and place in Queensland.
