Capturing the liminal moment between death and decay, these five photographic works depict birds who have died in captivity, or as a result of road kill and window strikes, and have been ‘preserved’ by way of freezing and cryovacing. These images become a speculative archive that defy and transcend the logics of traditional archives. There is a tension in the act of destruction and preservation of the plastic.
